Hello, I have an "old" HP 840 G2 laptop running Windows 10 "pro" 10.0.19.045 build 19045.
For the past few days, my keyboard has been unresponsive (I have to use a keyboard with a USB port, in that case, it is OK):
- If I press any key, it lights up but the key is not taken into account.
- the Caps Lock key does not lock (the specific LED remains off)
- Pressing the "fn" + "num lock" key combination has no effect (Note: There is no numeric keypad on the PC keyboard
Maneuvers performed:
- in Device Manager: I deleted the keyboard and restarted: no effect
- in Device Manager: I removed the keyboard with driver removal request and rebooted: no effect
- I did a SAFE MODE restart : no effect
- I went to the BIOS: again it was impossible to use the PC keyboard.
I'll add one point: with the "fn" + "F11" key, I can light, dim or turn off the backlight of the keyboard keys.
But no other combination works: for example "fn" + "F9" and "fn"+"F10" to decrease or increase the brightness of the screen do not work.
For me, it's the only action I can do with the keyboard.
I am looking for help or suggestions for additional diagnosis.
Thank you.
