HP E24m G4 FHD USB-C Conferencing Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

I'm having network problems with multiple  E24m G4 monitors and 830 G8 laptops.

We bought over 40 monitors and laptops and we realized that there is an incompatibility between these 2 products when it comes to ethernet connection.

All monitors and laptops tested with multiple combinations

- Monitor out of the box, not updated, laptop out of the box not updated.

- Monitor out of the box, not updated, laptop updated with all the latest BIOS, drivers and firmware updates found by HP Image assistant & HP Support assistant.
- Monitor updated with the latest firmware for Windows 10 x64, Realtek Ethernet driver and Monitor software installed, laptop updated with all the latest BIOS, drivers and firmware updates found by HP Image assistant & HP Support assistant.

- Monitor updated with the latest firmware for Windows 10 x64, Realtek Ethernet driver and Monitor software installed, laptop out of the box not updated.

Tried the following:

- Ordered 5 replacement Type C cables from HP and tried to all the above combinations

- Disabling IPV6 (as suggested to another user having the exact same issues (1) LAN connection is dropped repeatedly when connected via Elit... - HP Support Community - 8418582)

- Disconnecting Ethernet cable from monitor, connecting to Wi-Fi only and record network behavior (drops, disconnections etc.) via dedicated software. The results were clean without any network issues.
- Disconnecting Wi-Fi and use only Ethernet cable from monitor and record network behavior (drops, disconnections etc) via dedicated software. The results were full of network issues.

- Used the HP Dock G5 Type C with Ethernet and all the above combinations. The results were clean without any network issues.

Everything points to a monitor defect (maybe firmware/software related, or even hardware) or incombatibility between the monitors and the laptops, which are strangelly the latest models from HP.

We have more than 10 users with the exact same issues and the exact same configuration, now everyone's laptops and monitors are fully updated with the latest updates from HP's HP Image assistant & HP Support assistant as well as HP's support website about the monitor.

At the time of writing this, 4 more people have stated that are having the same issues. You can see that in the following link LAN connection is dropped repeatedly when connected via Elit... - HP Support Community - 8418582

We are going to report this to the HP customer service and we hope to have an immediate answer for the issue.
