I want a wired connection when at my desk. Microsoft told me to update the LAN driver. I cannot find the driver or a link to install or update it. Please help.

Well, they did not have a driver specific for ethernet but what appeared to be one all-encompassing driver download. I downloaded that and am now connected via ethernet. Thank you!!

Hi:

If your notebook came with W10 from HP,  the ethernet driver would already be installed, just like the wifi driver is.

Does your notebook have an ethernet port?

Some models don't.

It does not have an ethernet port. I have had the notebook for about three years and have always used a wired connection through my docking station until recently. It seems that the ethernet driver may have gone away recently with an update.

I wouldn't be able to help you with that.

You would need to go to the support page for your model docking station, and see if they have a W10 ethernet driver.

Otherwise, you can buy a USB to RJ-45 ethernet adapter and use that to connect by wire.

Something like this...
