Hi @Hundred_percent,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your laptop suddenly stopped connecting to your Wi-Fi network but can still connect to a mobile hotspot, the issue may be related to your Wi-Fi settings, network configuration, or hardware. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
1. Basic Checks
- Wi-Fi Toggle: Ensure the Wi-Fi is turned on using the hardware switch (if available) or the function key (e.g., Fn + F12).
- Airplane Mode: Make sure Airplane Mode is turned off.
- Proximity: Ensure you are within range of the Wi-Fi router.
2. Restart Network Devices
- Restart Router: Turn off your Wi-Fi router, wait for about 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Restart Laptop: Restart your laptop after the router has fully rebooted.
3. Update Network Drivers
- Update Driver:
- Right-click the Start menu and select Device Manager.Expand the Network adapters section.Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and select Update driver.Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
4. Forget and Reconnect to the Network
Forget the Network:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.Click on Manage known networks.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and click Forget.:Restart your laptop.
- Go back to the Wi-Fi settings, select your network, and enter the password to reconnect.
5. Reset Network Settings
- Network Reset:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
- Scroll down and click on Network reset.
- Follow the prompts to reset your network settings and restart your laptop.
6. Check Network Configuration
- Correct Wi-Fi Settings: Ensure that the SSID (network name) and password are correct.
- IP Configuration: Check that your laptop is set to obtain an IP address automatically.
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
- Click on your network and then on Properties.
- Ensure IP settings are set to Automatic (DHCP).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day
