Hello everyone
I lose internet connection every time I turn the laptop on. I then have to go through HP support assistant network check a couple of times before I'm able to access the internet. Usually says "infrastructure host not responding to pings" does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi @Gaiaz,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Victus By HP gaming laptop is connecting to the Wi-Fi network but you're not getting internet access, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to diagnose and potentially fix the problem.
Check Other Devices: First, confirm whether other devices in your home are able to access the internet through the same Wi-Fi network. This will help determine if the issue is with your laptop or the network itself.
Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Restart your laptop and see if the problem persists.
Restart the Router: Unplug the power from your router, wait for about 10-15 seconds, and then plug it back in. This can help reset the network connection and potentially resolve the issue.
Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength: Ensure that you have a strong and stable Wi-Fi signal. Poor signal strength can result in intermittent or no internet access.
Update Network Drivers: Outdated or incompatible network drivers can cause connectivity issues. Visit HP's official support website, enter your laptop's model number, and download the latest network drivers. Install them and restart your laptop.
Forget and Reconnect to the Wi-Fi Network: In your laptop's Wi-Fi settings, forget the network you're trying to connect to and then reconnect to it. This can sometimes help establish a fresh connection.
Disable and Enable Wi-Fi: Temporarily disable your laptop's Wi-Fi, wait a few seconds, and then enable it again. This can refresh the connection.
Check for IP Address Issues: Sometimes, the laptop might not be receiving a proper IP address from the router. You can try releasing and renewing the IP address. Open the Command Prompt (Windows) or Terminal (macOS) and enter the following commands:
For Windows:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
For macOS:
sudo ipconfig set en0 DHCP
Firewall or Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can interfere with network connectivity. Temporarily disable these software programs and see if you can access the internet.
Check for MAC Filtering: If your router has MAC filtering enabled, make sure your laptop's MAC address is allowed to connect to the network.
Network Reset (Windows Only): In Windows, you can try using the "Network Reset" feature. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Network Reset. This will reset your network settings to their default configurations.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
