HP LAPTOP 14-CF0006DX

I purchased a HP laptop in July and ever since then I cannot connect to the WiFi at Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, public library etc., as well as not connecting to the 5G at home but only the 2.4wifi. It will let me connect to my personal hotspot but that’s data I would prefer not to use.

in July I did a google search and found possible solutions on these forums and after I tried them, still not connect. I then took it to Best Buy geek squad to see if they could help and they suggested the same things as this message board  and still no connection.

it is now December and hasn’t been used because it doesn’t connect to the WiFi where I needed it to and would like to sell it but if it won’t connect to WiFi it’s useless.

Can anyone help and/or provide other suggestions regarding this problem or has had this problem? It’s very frustrating and regret going with HP and should have gotten a chrome book.

Hi

Suggests it is 2.4 Ghz only.

Wireless connectivity
802.11b/g/n (1x1) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 4.2 combo

L21480-005 WLAN RT BGN 1x1 +BT4.2LE M

A wireless dongle may be the best alternative.
