Apology accepted.

But I ask the question again...how can we help anyone when they don't provide the full model number or the product number of the PC, or the model wifi adapter that has the problem?

There are thousands of new HP notebooks that have been made in the last couple of years.

There are several different wifi adapters that HP installs in these models.

In the last year or two, there are two model wifi adapters that HP is using in many model notebooks that are terrible.

The Realtek 8821CE, and the Realtek 8822BE wifi adapters.  They are constantly dropping the wifi connection.

Realtek had been releasing drivers on an almost weekly basis trying to get these crummy cards to work.  I don't know if they are done yet, but each driver release seems to make things better.

So, if you have either one of these wifi adapters, the only suggestion I can offer would be to update the wifi and Bluetooth drivers to these versions, and restart the PC.

Hi:

What model wifi adapter does your notebook have?

If you don't know, go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category, and there you will find the name and model number of the wireless network adapter.

Fudge, I suspect there will be a lot of song and dance answers here but the reality is that there is something wrong with the computer. My husband is an engineer so we always have multiple laptops around, and not one has ever had this issue until now. He foolishly bought the same laptop about 6 months after me and both laptops continuously do it. He resorted to a dongle. I resorted to buying another laptop that wasnt HP but one of my kids needed it so I am back on the envy and  losing connectivity every few minutes. Here is a heads up for you-it will get worse. It goes from a couple of times a day to every few minutes. My husband was able to fix his by uninstaling the network adapter and reinstalling it (it also chews through dongles, he has had 2 already). It didnt work for me so I am still searching

A lot of song and dance answers?

When nobody answers my simple request to provide the model of the wifi adapter, how can I even give them a song and dance answer?

You make some off-handed remark about the wifi not working, and even you fail to provide what model wifi card is having issues.

No specifics = no help.

Sorry Paul, that was not directed at you. If you google the question the same advice is given. Reboot it, turn off the router, update windows blah blah blah. The problem is the computer itself and I dont understand why it isnt acknowledged. The envy I have also had the screen innards falling out because of the hinges being garbage. There was a recall on other models for the same thing but not the model I have even though it is the exact same issue so I am rather disenchanted with HP and their products  WE have 2 HP envy 15  notebooks purchased 6 months apart that are doing the same exact thing that no other devices in the house do, and evidently quite a few other people are having the same issue. I wanted fudge to know what worked for one of the 2 here and to let him know the problem will keep getting worse and drop wifi several times an hour soon and that it is a problem with the computer
