HP ENVY 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-cr0000 RCTO Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

hi I have an HP envy wireless laptop, and it’s not showing any Wi-Fi at all. When I click on the globe, there isn’t a list of Wi-Fi networks, the airplane mode button is shaded so I can’t click on it, and same with the battery saver. My Wi-Fi is working fine on my other devices.

I restarted the router, I have shut down And restarted my computer several times, and the drivers are supposedly updated. This happened to me last week as well, and somehow the problem resolved itself. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi @Kikiteaches,

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

It sounds like your HP ENVY 17-cr0000 laptop is experiencing a network adapter failure or driver issue, especially since:

  • No Wi-Fi networks are showing.
  • The Airplane Mode toggle is grayed out.
  • Battery Saver is also unresponsive.
  • Other devices connect fine to the same Wi-Fi.

Let’s walk through a few steps to help you fix this:

1. Check Device Manager for Network Adapters

  • Press Windows + X → select Device Manager.
  • Expand Network adapters.
    • Look for RealtekIntel, or MediaTek wireless adapters.
    • If it's missing or has a yellow triangle, the driver may be corrupted or disabled.
  • Right-click and choose Enable, or Update driver.

2. Run the Network Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Run the Network Adapter troubleshooter.

3. Reset Network Settings

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset.
  • Click Reset now.
  • This will restart your PC and reinstall all network adapters.

4. Reinstall the Wireless Driver

5. Check BIOS Settings

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Ensure Wireless LAN is enabled under System Configuration > Built-in Device Options.
