My phone is using the same wifi but is working as normal which makes me sure it is an issue with the laptop.
I tired resetting the laptop but every time I try this the laptop says there were issues resetting and no changes have been made.
Can anyone give me any help fixing this?

Hi @Ivona,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.
I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is not maintaining the wireless connection.
I’d love to help!
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the computer was working fine?
- What happens when you try connecting to your router?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
Meanwhile, follow below steps and check if it helps.
Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and choose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test.
It may also help to reset the winsock catalogue:
1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and choose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test.
If the issue persists, follow the steps in the below link.
Let me know how it goes and you have a good day ahead.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care!
Cheers!

The wireless stopped working on Monday evening and I've been trying to fix it since then.
It can connect to the router. However I live in a house share so I cannot connect to the router for any length of time.
I've not installed any updates or made any changes to the computer. I've only had the laptop for a couple of months and I've basically only used it for Facebook and netflix.
I've attempted all the HP troubleshooting steps but none of them worked.
I've tried resetting the laptop both keeping my personal files and doing a full reset. The laptop gets to 35% and then it says something went wrong and no changes were made.
Neither of your suggestions worked.
Is there anything else you can suggest?

Hi @Ivona,
I recommend you contact HP phone support and order recovery media for your computer. Using the recovery media you can reset the computer to factory settings.
Here is how you can get in touch with the phone support.
Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Enter Product number or select to autodetects
Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get phone number.
Take care!
Cheers!
