I see a similar problem described in ...

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Intel-R-Dual-Band-Wireless-Problem-Un...

This suggests installing the latest Intel driver.

Current installed driver is ver.  18.40.0.12

New vers is ....               91.60.0

I have tried to use the Control panel>Driver>Update Software util but it tells me that

...'best driver for your device is already installed'

...'Windows has deyermined that the driver software for your devices is upto date'

what do you suggest ?

Hi @DonI2203,

Thank you for replying,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

I would personally suggest you try to update the drivers for your computer from our HP support website, using this link.

Once done, please go ahead and restart the PC and check if that helps.

If the issue persists, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Please perform the steps suggested and get back to us with the results for further assistance.

Following yr advice to upgrade driver  from Intel site d/l file  Wireless_19.60.0_PROSet64_Win10.exe

Execute  file .....Updating drivers for device Dual band Wireless-AC 7265 ...Success message.
Looking at Network adapter I see driver version   19.51.0.4

After Reboot (strange) but Ffox did not work  but Opera did !

Reinstalled Ffox (ver 53.0.3) and all appears OK

Using HP Support Assistant  to look at drivers select my PC Model)
I see no specific reference to this network adapter.

@DonI2203, It's been great to hear from you again.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

As you mentioned the issue still persists after trying out the steps.

Try downgrading the wireless drivers from 19.60 to 19.50 and check if it helps.

Please find the link to download the wireless driver from Intel website.

Also, if the issue still persists try uninstalling the wireless driver from device manager on your PC and reinstall the drivers from recovery manager.

Refer this article to know how to install drivers from recovery manager.

I'll keep an eye out for your response.

I hope you have a great day! 🙂

Today I have seen no loss of wifi conectivity altho Windows event log continues to show numerous error ...

e.g.    Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 : Has determined that the network adapter is not functioning properly.

---------------------------------------------------------

The only action I have taken recently was that reported yesterday....

.....

ControlPpanel>device Drivers> Network Adapter AC 7256power control properties   - I have reticked the two

boxes allowing system to control power to this device.

------------

Using HP Assistnace Network took indicates no current problems,

I am confused by the many (30-40) event log entries...?  when system appears to havea  good internet connection.

FYI - In my area we still have ADSL2 so a typical cooection rate is about   7-8 Mb/sec

@DonI2203, thanks for your quick response and time.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

As you mentioned the wireless is working fine now but you are getting multiple errors on your PC.

Did you try updating the drivers from recovery manager?

If you have not try updating the drivers. If the issue still persists try performing a system restore on your PC and check if it helps.

Refer this article to know how to perform a system restore on your PC.

Have a great day ahead!

Take Care! 🙂
