Hello,

I would recommend the following:

- go to power options in contro panel

- edit power plan

- change advanced power settings

- set wireless adapter settings to best performance and reboot

If that doesn't work, tell device manager to show hidden devices and see if it's displayed there.

You can also use the HP UEFI (see link bellow) to test the wireless module.

HI GUYS ::   wish'd to send +++  Kudos to/for grad. student  'who helped me ystrday...AlexandreN...G.S., for his several suggestions, as weirdo I lost my wireless connections abruptly, when act... updating at our good HP site, when they rolled me over to  Google, re their new to me, association with their site, thru that install whatever...I do not know, lost my wireless adapter connection.

My ISP  Bell, a good techy couldnt resolve it, even lost him, in spite I'd reapplied the ethernet connection method, he on remote,  we rather HE cldn't get HP drivers, you & I know well, in legasy cat. now the old Pav. N. dv9500 cat. 12 yrs new, drivers by norm method are N/A.

I/WE have to obtain them graciously, in this support forum, so be it, I understand that, I mean 12 yrs. is 12 yrs eh.

Meanwhile, later last evening, missing some hockey games, wk'd. thru  Alex's  suggestions, again this AM...Wed.  And nice resolved, getting a great deal of experience on my laptop / Notebook, realy truly it is a beaty.

I'm still behind  the  neg.  GUN, on/for my 4 PCI missing in action.

So Alex... helped my put out this latest fire  so to speak.

Guess I'll have to go back to either  paul T. & Flower-Bud, to get that resolved,  my Conexant Snd. problem also resolved, by several recommendations.

We have spent time/resources on these   matters, i def.. wish to thank YOU ALL.   Kudos all around, really.

Honestly,  away back when techy guys at old early  PCMag...was 'IT', were also helpful,  date I can't recall...were so helpful.   A legion of them, budding amateurs, but away ahead of the pack.   Yor days,  Alvin Toffler,  writer days, 1980  shades of change forthcoming, saw it, stay'd with computers,  learn'd as I went 'along', no different now.

The earliest GUY that help'd  ME,  uggghhh  now age 82,   was none other legend.

Call'd himself....Field  marshall,  NYC or so don't recall.   But a super communicator, innovator, tech superman, for advocates  newbies like 'I'.

I miss him, still...he was a delight,  even  gave a 'fellow' natch shared et al,  Xmas eve....Receipe...rcvd.  - Fav.   XMAS  EGG NOG.::heart:

ALEX N::::   Your a prince of a GUY,  &  I  like you, esp. for helping out a old duffer, a mere sudden incident...that i wish'd to solve immediately,  for I've been laden with problems on my old vintage 2012,  Pav. Notebook, recently,  it's like 3 steps forward,  2 steps back,  spend a lot of time on it, refuse to give 'UP'.  Old Notebook, but a fine piece of machinery, HP... lives on forever.

We shall see.

I have 4 PCI or Hid. Dev...UNknown, can't get OP's on them.  Hopeful,

Hello again,

Glad to hear everything is OK. As I have a "vintage" 10 year old HP laptop myself, a lot of things can go wrong, I'm glad my experience with fossilized machinery helped someone out.

All the best
