MT7922 Wi-Fi Adapter not recognized in Device Manager

I had to replace my MT7921 with MT7922 because Bluetooth keeps crashing.
Before installing the MT7922, I made a mistake of replacing the MT7921 with an Intel chip.
Both Intel and MT7922 Bluetooth works fine, but both Wi-Fi not detected.
Now I do not have Wi-Fi after the replacement.
Device does not show up under Network Adapters in Device Manager.
I have tried loading the driver directly as a legacy device, but it will not load up the model after I point it to the .inf file.

Please advise.

Thank you for reaching out to the HP Community. I understand that after replacing the original MediaTek MT7921 wireless card, the Bluetooth functionality is working, but the Wi-Fi adapter is not being detected in Device Manager. I will be glad to help you with this.

To assist you better, kindly share the below details:

• Is the MT7922 card an HP-certified wireless card or a retail version?
• Did the Wi-Fi adapter appear in Device Manager immediately after installing the Intel card, or was it missing from the first boot?
• Does the wireless adapter appear under Hidden Devices in Device Manager?
• Do you see any Unknown Devices or devices with a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm : 

1. Perform a Hard Reset - Click here for steps 
   • Shut down the notebook.
   • Disconnect the AC adapter.
   • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
   • Reconnect the adapter and power on the system.
2. Check Device Manager
   • Open Device Manager.
   • Click View -Show hidden devices.
   • Expand Network Adapters and check if the wireless card appears.
   • If present, right-click and uninstall it, then restart the PC.
3. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics - Click here for steps
   • Restart the PC and repeatedly tap F2 during startup.
   • Run the Component Tests > Network Test (if available).
   • Note any failure IDs displayed.
4. Restore BIOS Defaults
   • Press F10 during startup to enter BIOS.
   • Select Restore Defaults.
   • Save changes and restart.
5. Update the BIOS
   • Kindly ensure the notebook is running the latest BIOS version available for your model from HP Support - https://support.hp.com/ .

If the adapter is not detected in BIOS, Device Manager, or HP Diagnostics after reseating the card, it may indicate a compatibility issue with the replacement wireless card or a hardware-related concern.
