Can someone tell me what problems that my laptop on its own cuts my internet connection (in wireless).

I noticed it since i downloaded a free Windows 7 Home Premium exe file from a site, that file size is about 3.1GB.

While downloading it, i saw my internet connection turn off many times on its own and now it still happened a lot and my internet quota also running fast.

That's really annoying since i cannot serve internet peacefully as the internet connection was turned off on its own (WIFI).

Second problem is i saw this about last 2 weeks ago, whenever i turned on my laptop and also internet connection along, and i check my internet quota loses 200MB on its own without i do anything yet. This happened many times and my internet quota is running down by hundreds MB whenever i just turned my laptop on.

(For your information i've stopped the windows updates and other background activities that will use my internet data.)

PLEASE HELP!

@WexyMaxy Did you try reinstalling the wireless adapter? (please do, if you haven't)

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

  1. Remove All Barriers: Certain building materials can get in the way of weaker signals like Bluetooth. Metal, bulletproof glass, concrete and plaster are particularly bad, and marble, plaster and brick aren’t great easy. So if you’re really struggling with interference, your first step should be to move your Bluetooth devices away from these materials. That means no brick walls between you and your devices, and definitely no metal desks!

  2. Change Router Channel: If you have an Apple router and you’re constantly getting interference with your WiFi, try rebooting it. Upon restart, the station will search for a new channel. Specifically, a different channel than the one your Bluetooth devices are using to communicate. If you don’t have an Apple router, you may need to instead go into your router settings and try changing the channel manually. Experiment with different channels to see which one works best.

  3. Move Closer to Your Router: If you often find that you’re getting interference when talking on a wireless headset while on a WiFi call (you’ll know because you’ll hear static), try moving closer to your router. This will give you a more robust WiFi connection, so the Bluetooth frequency can’t overpower it.

  4. Get Away From Microwaves and Fluorescent Lighting: Both emit frequencies of 2.4GHz, and moving away from them will distance you from the source.

That said, The best way to resolve the issue is by using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

May i know, if i change the Wifi channel in setting as i wish for example i clicked channel number 1 and see the result is every phones and computer at my home got connected to the modem and i have waited for about 10 minutes and see no disturbance (cut off) on its own, does it mean CHANNEL 1 is OK?

Does the speed of the internet got disturbed in changing the Wifi channel? For example before, i used AUTO channel, but now i chose CHANNEL 1. Does the speed of the internet that i usually use will be getting slow?

@WexyMaxy

Thank you for posting back.

To get the answer to this question, the most routers and devices are set by default to channel 8. If you have other devices working in the same frequency, your wireless signal will get interference and that will result in a much slower signal.

@WexyMaxy

Thank you for posting back.

Yes it depends on how many devices are connected and using the wireless connection bandwidth.
