I had to reinstall Windows 10 for some reason, after it was installed for the first time. Since then, the WiFi on the laltop is not working properly as it was earlier, it is not able to detect WiFi devices nearby properly and if it detects the signal strength is too low.

I checked on the net and couldn't find anything helpful. When I was checking my Network Devices on Device Manager, I found this in one of the messages-

Device PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4365&SUBSYS_2230103C&REV_01\0000DBFFFFFF38B100 requires further installation.

Driver Management concluded the process to install driver netbc64.inf_amd64_6c303885965f99b8\netbc64.inf for Device Instance ID PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4365&SUBSYS_2230103C&REV_01\0000DBFFFFFF38B100 with the following status: 0x0.

Do I need to install any other drivers?

Hello Paul,

Thanks for the quick help.

I had a problem downloading the file. When I try to download it, the entire size (45.2 MB) of the file gets downloaded and in the end I get a response of Failed Network - Error. I tried 3 times to download on Chrome, but got the same response. How can I proceed?

<Edit-1> Thanks to Internet Explorer, I was able to download and install the same. The install completed and the signal strength in the display imporved. Thanks for the help. Will update you on how it is working in a day.

Regards,

Vivek M

Hello Paul,

The issue which I flagged earlier seems resolved. Thank you very much! I worried it to be a hardware problem.

One issue i've seen earlier and even after the solution you've provided (It happened once). The issue is -

- When system is put to sleep, sometimes after wakeup WiFi itself doesn't switchon. When I try to manually turn it on, there is no hardware detected/shown.

- A restart also wouldn't help.

- Solution: Shutdown and start afresh.

- After a Shutdown, I've seen twice that the system is stuck on the Initial starup displaying the "HP" logo.

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Try updating to newer versions of the W10 Intel chipset and Intel management engine interface drivers and see if that resolves those issues.

That would be the only suggestion I can offer for those odd-ball issues.

This package contains the Intel Chipset Installation Utility. This utility enables the operating system to show the correct name for the installed Intel hardware in the Microsoft Windows Device Manager. This package is provided for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.
