Hi. My wifi adapter has gone missing. It has a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 802.11b|g|n make. I have not made any changes to my present laptop configuration in the last few weeks.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. I have also done a command prompt to scan and have found no system integrity violations. I tried reinstalling my HP Buttonless Driver but it tells me that the installation cannot be completed. I have also done a command prompt of network discovery and flush dns. Network settings in my BIOS are not disabled as well.

The adapter has been showing a Code 45 error. I have read all HP and Windows fora to try and resolve the issue but have been unsuccessful so far. Can someone please help? I would really like a permanent solution to this problem. Thank you.

Ananya.

@A_Das Have you run a wireless card test on your device to identify if this is either a hardware or a software malfunction?

If not, let's start with that:

  • Turn the computer On and keep tapping F2 repeatedly on startup to enter system diagnostics.
  • Select the component test and run a wireless test on your computer.
    • FOR DETAILS & FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS, USE THIS LINK: CLICK HERE
    • (By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)

If the test fails or does not detect the wireless card, this could be a hardware malfunction, please revert to me with the failure ID,

However, if the tests pass, restart your computer, then visit the HP website and use the product number of your device to download and install the wireless adapter from the list under the Windows OS you select.

  • If the issue persists, you may want to create a backup of all your important data into an external storage device and perform a system reset:
  • Refer to this HP Article for assistance.

Hi. I ran the test and it says that my wifi adapter is uninstalled. There is no 24-digit error ID that is shown. Please help. Thank you.

@A_Das If the device isn't detected on the hardware test screen either, this is most likely a hardware malfunction with the wireless card and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

here's how private messages work: Click here for details.

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
