I have 18 HP 250 mice. They stop working after installation. They don't work via Bluetooth or the USB dongle. Restoring the OS gets them working again, but after a while, they stop working once more—it’s a recurring cycle.

Hi @szybkilopez,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Since you are experiencing the same recurring issue with 18 HP 250 mice, and the mice eventually stop working with both Bluetooth and the USB receiver, this would be better handled directly by HP Support, as Community support is limited when troubleshooting multiple units together.

If the mice are still under warranty, we recommend either:

  • Contacting the HP Phone Support team in your country/region. Please have the product details and purchase invoice available so the team can review the multiple affected units and advise on the available support options.
  • Alternatively, take the affected mice and proof of purchase/invoice to an HP Authorized Service Provider or HP Authorized Store in your region. The team can inspect the devices and assist based on their warranty status.

Since reinstalling/restoring Windows only resolves the issue temporarily before it returns, please mention this behaviour when contacting HP Support, along with the fact that both Bluetooth and USB receiver connections are affected.

To contact us, click here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact.

Step 1: Sign in to the HP Support page using your HP account or create a new account by clicking on “Create Account.”

Step 2: Enter the device serial number, select the product, and click on “Other” from the options.

Step 3: Click on “Continue to contact options,” and choose your country/region and language.

Step 4: The support options will now populate based on the warranty status of your device.

Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance.

Have a great day!
