HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-ee1000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

My computer keeps cycling my internet connection.  I have 2 of the same computers right next to eachother, and the other one is not doing it.  So it’s a computer issue.  How do I remedy this?

Hi @BarberShane,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If your HP ENVY X360 15.6 Inch 2-In-1 Laptop PC 15-Ee1000 keeps cycling your internet connection while the other identical laptop does not, it's likely an issue with the network adapter, driver, or settings on that specific laptop. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Restart the Laptop and Router:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
    1. Restart your laptop.
    2. Restart your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.

2. Update Network Adapter Drivers:

  1. Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select Device Manager).
  2. Expand the "Network adapters" section.
  3. Right-click on your wireless adapter and select "Update driver".
  4. Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software".

3. Reinstall Network Adapter Drivers:

  1. In Device Manager, right-click on your wireless adapter and select "Uninstall device".
  2. Restart your laptop. Windows will automatically reinstall the network adapter drivers.

4. Check Power Management Settings:

  1. In Device Manager, right-click on your wireless adapter and select "Properties".
  2. Go to the "Power Management" tab.
  3. Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
  4. Click "OK" and restart your laptop.

5. Run Network Troubleshooter:

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
  2. Click on "Network troubleshooter" and follow the on-screen instructions.

6. Reset Network Settings:

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
  2. Scroll down and click on "Network reset".
  3. Click "Reset now" and confirm. Your laptop will restart and reset network settings.

Kindly find the next set of steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @BarberShane,

Please find the next set of steps below.

7. Disable and Re-enable the Network Adapter:

  1. In Device Manager, right-click on your wireless adapter and select "Disable device".
  2. Wait a few seconds, then right-click again and select "Enable device".

8. Check for Interference:

  • Ensure that there are no electronic devices or physical barriers causing interference with the wireless signal.
  • Try moving your laptop closer to the router to see if the issue persists.

9. Use the Same Network Band:

  • If your router supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, make sure both laptops are connected to the same band to rule out band-specific issues.

10. Update BIOS:

  • Sometimes, a BIOS update can resolve hardware-related issues.
    1. Visit the HP Support website and download the latest BIOS update for your laptop model.
    2. Follow the instructions on the website to update the BIOS.

11. Check Event Viewer:

  1. Press Win + X and select Event Viewer.
  2. Look for critical errors or warnings in the System and Application logs that occur around the time of the connection drops.
  3. Note any error codes or messages for further troubleshooting.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be a deeper hardware problem specific to the laptop. Contact HP Phone Support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
