HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 (2J4V9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My laptop suddenly stopped connecting to Wifi.  It recognizes my account but won't connect.  The Realtek Adapter says it's disabled and when I try to enable it, it quickly returns to disabled.  The laptop does not have an Ethernet port so I can't run a cable between my router and the laptop. (I just ordered an adapter from Amazon but it won''t get here until August 1).  I have another laptop where I could download something and attempt to transfer it to the 15.6 laptop.  Any suggestions?  I'm gonna turn 69 next week and I'm feeling very un-tech savvy for the first time..

Hello heaven408, this error that you have, many people have it, it is because the driver goes wrong in Windows 11 and disappears, at the moment there is no solution, my opinion is that you reinstall Windows 10, copy the files that you do not want to lose and do a clean installation deleting everything, this is the only way that will work for you.
I leave you the link where they talk about this problem.

Hi, @cielo408

The parts list for the product number you posted lists several different model number PC's and they come with different model Wi-Fi adapters.

This is the latest 'one size fits all' W11 23H2 Realtek Wi-Fi driver HP has for the various model Realtek Wi-Fi adapters.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp153001-153500/sp153073.exe

I have posted the driver versions that are installed by the above driver for each model Wi-Fi adapter:

- Provides the following driver versions:
RTL8851BE/RTL8852BE-VT, version 6101.19.118.0
RTL8852CE, version 6001.16.156.0
RTL8852BE, version 6001.15.152.0
RTL8852AE, version 6001.10.356.0
RTL8822CE/RTL8822BE/RTL8821CE, version 2024.10.228.9
RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE, version 2024.0.4.208 (EOL, with Win10 19H1 WHQL)

I don't know if it will resolve the problem you are having, but you have nothing to lose by giving it a try.

Hi, @Jos1_

The driver I posted is much newer...For one thing you can tell by the sp##### file number being higher and the driver version is 1.0.0.248

Hello Paul_Tikkanen, this driver is the 24H2 version, it would be better, right? In any case it is the same, I suppose that like the others it will not work, if it works, I am very happy for the user as is normal. It is not worth continuing with this comment.

HI:

The driver I posted is good for W11 24H2, as well as W10 22H2.

The only comment I have is that all Realtek cards are lousy, and are nothing but trouble

That's why I'm constantly on the lookout for the most recent driver releases.

Hello, what you say seems perfect to me. I hope it works and the problem goes away, but I continue to insist that Windows 11 has many bugs that Windows 10 does not have.

HP Recommended

Yes, I've noticed where lots of people have wifi and audio problems on W11.

I find it interesting that W11 has these problems on PCs designed to run W11, while I have not had any problems at all running W11 on all of my PCs and notebooks that don't even meet the W11 hardware requirements.

I also installed Windows 11 and I did not have any problems with anything and my laptop does not meet the requirements to install Windows 11 through the TPM, my processor is 7th generation and it is from the 8th generation when it can be installed. I installed it with the Rufus program and without any problem, but this has happened the same as when they released Windows Vista, it is one of the worst programs that Microsoft has made, that is why they released Windows 7, correcting the errors it had, and the fans also accelerated If you remember, Windows 11 is the same as what happened with Widows 10, it is just an update of Windows 10 that has added a few things and nothing more, but in this case with many more bugs than Windows 10, which is stable. Whoever installs Windows 11, I'll stick with Windows 10 because it has more compatibility in every way, with any program. Good night
