11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz (2.80 GHz)
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP laptop with the processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz (2.80 GHz), system type  64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, edition : Windows 11 Pro, keeps disconnecting from wireless network (WIFI). It connects and works for about two minutes and disconnects and it will never connect again keeping displaying "you cant connect to this network) I have tried several troubleshooting by updating the network driver, uninstall and install again, reset all networks but none of the above solved my problem, What Should I do to rectify this problem

Hi @Kabyemera

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for laying out the details so clearly—it’s genuinely frustrating when a Wi-Fi connection drops repeatedly and won’t reconnect. Since you’ve already tried driver updates and network resets, let’s move toward deeper system-level and hardware-specific steps that may help stabilize your connection.

Update Network Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager on your laptop (you can search for it in the Windows search bar).
  • Find and expand the Network adapters section.
  • Right-click on your wireless adapter and select Update driver. Follow the prompts to search and install any available updates.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure that your Windows 11 system is fully updated. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates.

Reset Network Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet.
  • Scroll down and click on Advanced network settings.
  • Click on Network reset and confirm, allowing your system to reset network settings.

Disable Power Management for Network Adapter:

  • In Device Manager, right-click on your wireless adapter and select Properties.
  • Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  • Click OK to save changes.

Forget and Reconnect to Wi-Fi Network:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks.
  • Select the network you are having issues with, click Forget, then reconnect by selecting it from the list of available networks and entering the password.

Check Router Settings:

  • Ensure your router's firmware is up to date.
  • Restart the router.
  • Check whether the issue persists with other devices to determine if the problem might be with the router rather than the laptop.

Try a Different Network Band:

  • If your router supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, try connecting to the other band to see if stability improves.

Safe Mode with Networking:

  • Boot into Safe Mode with Networking to see if the problem still occurs, which can help isolate the issue as driver or software-related.

Let me know how these steps go. You're approaching this with persistence—and that’s exactly what gets results.
