My HP laptop (15-fd0021TU, product number 7Q6Z2PA) has been having Wi-Fi issues for about a week. The Wi-Fi adapter — Realtek RTL8852BE Wi-Fi 6 — keeps randomly getting disabled or disappearing. Sometimes it turns off by itself and then comes back after restarting, but since yesterday, it’s completely gone from the Wi-Fi list.

I checked in Device Manager — sometimes it shows up under Network adapters, sometimes it disappears completely. I also accidentally uninstalled it once, then reinstalled the driver from HP’s website. Even after that, the problem keeps happening again and again.

I think there’s either a driver or hardware issue because my Wi-Fi keeps turning off suddenly, and I can’t connect to any networks. Bluetooth also acts unstable sometimes. I’ve tried updating drivers, disabling power-saving options, and even resetting network settings, but it didn’t fix it.

@Teja30, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating issue where the Wi-Fi adapter keeps disappearing or turning off. Since you've already done some basic troubleshooting like updating drivers, disabling power-saving options, and resetting network settings, it seems like the problem could be deeper, potentially a hardware issue or something more specific in the driver or system configuration.

Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue:

Check for Windows Updates

Make sure your system is fully updated:

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and install any available updates.

Use HP Support Assistant

Open HP Support Assistant (search for it in the Start menu).

Check for any driver or system updates and install them.

Reinstall Wi-Fi Driver

Device Manager > Network Adapters > Right-click your Realtek RTL8852BE > Uninstall device.

Restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.

If not, download and install the latest driver from the HP website.

Reset Network Settings

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Get Started under Reset this PC (choose Keep my files).

Check BIOS Settings

Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 to enter the BIOS.

Make sure Wireless LAN is enabled.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Press Esc while turning on the laptop to open the startup menu.

Select Diagnostics (F2) to check if there are any issues with your Wi-Fi adapter.

Try System Restore

Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > System Protection.

Choose System Restore, pick a restore point before the issue started, and follow the prompts.

Boot in Safe Mode

Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.

Check Safe boot in the Boot tab, restart, and check if the Wi-Fi works in Safe Mode.

Test Bluetooth

If Bluetooth is also acting up, try disabling Bluetooth temporarily in Device Manager to see if it helps.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
