Well, the tutorial told me to download an app, sadly it doesn't work anymore due to the app being designed for older versions of android.

Is this a skippable phase?

Yes, it's skippable, but you take longer to test which wifi channel is best.

(1) Take a 2nd computer and connect it with LAN connection to wifi router and start to change the wifi channel.

(2) Test the wifi connection and speed with your wife connected notebook, write down the speed rates

(3) Repeat (1), (2), (3)

Hi! sorry for getting back late.

So far, it says I cannot change 5 GhZ to 2.4 GhZ, since both are bieng used in the same router, I have no idea why but all I know is, that it says that (the settings were made automatically to fit your connection) meaning it was good? It had TWO of my wifi one with 2.4GhZ and the other with 5 GhZ.

Hello @Saulgoodman

What wifi router do you have ? Give me details, please.

Can you switch from automatic to manual settings ?

i checked.

I don't have those settings.

I just read this and knew this was the case.

"If you don't see the 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi channel settings (i.e., WiFi Mode, Channel Selection and Channel Mode), it means that these settings are being managed automatically to help optimize your home network and provide the best performance possible."

OK, thanks for checking ...

>to help optimize your home network and provide the best performance possible

😥

(1) Can you connect a LAN cable directly to the router and test the speed ? Internet speed rates ?

(2) Is your wifi router firmware up-to-date ?

(3) If (1) is also bad, then you should contact your internet provider

With cable, seems very good.

it could be possibly because my Wi-Fi adapter is broken, or something in those fields.

Especially when also the other USB Wi-Fi adapter that I got for this laptop still had the same issue.

Oh, and about the firmware, it says it's up to date.

(Update: Mid typing this the Wi-Fi providers, initiated an outage to fix some stuff up. Il hope that to be a good fix)
