I have a pavillion dv7 6135dx, and lately I have noticed that my wifi will disconnect all of a sudden, or when I start up the computer I won't show any networks to connect to.
Now when this happens I run the troubleshooter, and that will fix the problem, but i will get an error message at times telling me that no adapter is found. I am not computer saavy as some, but with a little research I can usually find my way if pointed in the right direction.
So, is my wireless card going bad, and if so will the realtek RLT8188CE work on my machine. I have looked at youtube for replacing the card, and seems to me that its pretty straightforward, and only takes about 5 mins. I am also a bit unclear as to what a whitelist is? Does that mean that if the card is on the list, then it will work? I will admit, the terminology I am not to familiar with so thats why I am a little confused.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mitch

I updated the BIOS, and I also updated missing drivers which I wasn't aware of. I do think that was the root of my problem.
The model # of my computer is LW174UA#ABA, and the Serial # 5CH1351NMS.
Also I wanted to let you know that I looked for Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC, in the device manager list but couldn't find it listed, I found several others but not that one. Could you please advise me on what to do about that?
These were the only ones listed.
For now I think my connectivity problems have been resolved downloading the missing drivers. However if you think there is something else that really should be done please let me know.
Mitch

@Mitch52301, thanks for your prompt response and time.
I appreciate your efforts for writing back to us.
As you mentioned after reinstalling the drivers your issue got resolved.
I'm glad to know your issue got resolved after trying out the steps suggested.
Also, I have checked the records and it is Intel Centrino wireless-N6150 card shipped with your PC and not Realtek wireless card.
So the Realtek wireless card is not listed in the device manager.
If you have any queries in future related to any HP products, you can always reach out to us.
We will try our best to help you out.
Take care,
Have a great day! 🙂
