Hi @TanmoyChak007,

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding the notebook not having mobile hotspot options. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

To assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this.

  • Did you check the product specs of the computer?
  • Please let me know the complete model# of the computer to check?
  • You need to have a dual band Wireless card to create a mobile hotspot on the notebook.

Creating a mobile hotspot is not supported by HP.

A simple workaround would be to order a USB dual band wireless dongle and plug it to one of the USB ports of the computer. Then connect it to the router to create a mobile hotspot. This can be ordered at a local Best Buy or Staples store or even via an online portal like Amazon or eBay. It is extremely cost effective and economical and can be procured for a song.

You could google this information on how to create a mobile hotspot.

Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂 Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you. 🙂

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. 🙂

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. 🙂

Hi @anmoyChak007,

I am really glad that you sent me the computer model#. The product specs link: http://hp.care/2t9BCBO confirms that you have a dual band wireless card that should support 5GHz. Kudos to you for that. 🙂 You should be able to setup the mobile hotspot. However, HP does not support it. Please google the solution and you should find one. Don't click on any third party download, app, image or ad. Only follow instructions in them,

You've displayed infinite patience, fabulous skills coupled with an indefatigable spirit to resolve the issue. Kudos to you for a job well done. It has been an absolute privilege to have shared this platform with you and to work with you. 🙂

So this helpline depends upon third party softwares only? And buying the HP laptop with huge amount of money it is really a trash which only I came to know after buying this? Mobile Hotspot is a common feature, HP doesnt support it means it is a lame excuse. Some day if mouse doesnt work will you say HP doesnt support mouse? Such a lame excuse.
