My computer started to drop the wireless network after about 2 mins, I can re connect and it will connect and drop after 2 mins again. I then hooked the computer up to the modem and same thing. Computer will connect to the internet for 2 mins and drop. I have updated the wireless connections I have done all the trouble shooting I think I can. What’s wrong?

@Kaymcee
Thank you for posting back.
If its a software-related issue by reinstalling windows operating system will fix the issue and also it will reinstall original factory shipped software.
Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04758961#AbT3 to perform a system recovery.
Note: Back up all personal files and read all caution statements before performing a system recovery.
If system factory recovery fails to fix the issue then the computer needs to be serviced.
Keep me posted for further assistance.

What is the product number of your HP Notebook? Use this link to find it: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
Have you recently made any software or hardware changes on the PC before the issue started?
Did you happen to update the drivers either using Windows update or using HP Support Assistant.
Could you please respond to this post with the details so that I can provide you with accurate solution which should help you resolve this issue.
Waiting for your response!
Cheers 🙂

Thank you for posting back,
I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8.
BIOS default:
- Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
- Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
- Follow the prompts to restart your computer.
Next, uninstall Network adapter from device manager.
- Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand the entry. Right-click the network adapter and select Uninstall device.
- You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.
- Reboot the computer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Let's run the wireless module test:
Use the following steps to open the Component Tests menu.
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests.
- The Component Tests menu displays.
- Wireless Module Test - This test checks that the BIOS detects the wireless module and that it is enabled.
To run the test, click the Wireless Module, and then click Run once. - The Wireless Module Test takes 30 seconds to complete.
Keep me posted for further assistance.
