My laptop disconnects from the internet when I unplug it and go on battery power. I can not find an answer to this problem. My computer is 2 weeks old and I always use it plugged in. Now I am traveling and don't want to be attached to the power cord.

@thumbers

Must be something to do with power settings. Please try the following option first (note, this is a work aroun, I will try to look at the combination of Power and Wirless then post back)

(a) Open Device Manager then Networks,

(b) Right click and wifi adapter and select properties,

(c) Click Power Management tab and untick Allow computer to turn off this device ...

(d) Click OK,

(e) Reboot

Regards.

I opened the device manager, it does not have "networks" listed. It has "network adapters" . I'm going to stop there because I don't see wifi adapters., just "bluetooth device" and a bunch of  WAN miniports. Maybe you can figure it out an easier way. I'm going to bed now but will try again tommorow and maybe you will have an easier solution. Thank you for trying to help me.
