HP EliteBook 840 G2 Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Elitebook 840 G2 Notebook PC (Energy Star).  Recently we upgraded our wifi router through Xfinity.  Since doing so I have had issues with my laptop disconnecting from the wifi frequently.  I do not recall the problem ever happening before we upgraded the router.  The weirdest part is that sometimes it stays connected for long periods of time and sometimes it disconnects every few minutes.  When I run the trouble shooting program it tells me that there is an issue with the network adapter or access point that cannot be automatically resolved.  I have tried to reinstall my wireless adapter and have run the HP diagnostics and it finds no issues and my adapters are up-to-date.

What model Wi-Fi adapter does your notebook have?

I have an Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265.  I am not very computer savvy when it comes to the hardware, drives, adapters, etc.  I found that information in system information under Network, then adapter.  It lists several adapter but that one says wireless.  It also lists a couple Microsoft Virtual Wireless adapters, but they do not look like they are actively being used.

Try updating the driver to the last version Intel released for the 7265-AC Wi-Fi adapter.

It is probably newer than the version you have installed.

You can update the Bluetooth driver too.
