I use to have spectrum with an old roommate. She moved out and took the modem and router. I got a new spectrum account in my name and it works on every device in the house besides my HP laptop. The old network still shows. I have reset the network settings on the laptop as well as reset the wifi router and nothing is working. I noticed that the laptop needs an update but I can't do that without wifi. Anyone have any other suggestions?

You can right click old name and select ignore or remove then reboot your machine.
Your machine has Intel® 802.11b/g/n/ac (2x2) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 4.2 Combo wifi adapter it should see new network. Otherwise please try following options:
- Do you have a CAT6 LAN cable (or borrow elsewhere) you can use direct connect to update your machine ,
- Do you have friends or relatives ? Ask them to download drivers for you from https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-stream-14-ax000-laptop-pc/12499221 then copy to a flash drive (USB stick) and use it to update your machine.
