Hi @nanroth,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Losing Wi-Fi on your HP laptop, especially when everything was working fine before, can be frustrating and disruptive. Let’s walk through the most effective steps to get your connection back.

Step-by-Step Fix for Lost Wi-Fi on HP Laptop

1. Check the Wi-Fi Button or Key

Some HP laptops have a physical Wi-Fi toggle key (often F12 or marked with a wireless icon).

  • Press the key once and wait 10 seconds.
  • Look for changes in the Wi-Fi icon in the taskbar.
  • If the icon reappears, try reconnecting to your network.

2. Restart Your Laptop and Router

  • Power off your laptop.
  • Unplug your router for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
  • Restart your laptop and try reconnecting.

3. Run HP Network Diagnostics

Use HP Support Assistant to automatically detect and fix Wi-Fi issues.

  • Open HP Support Assistant (or download from HP Support Assistant | HP® Support).
  • Select your device > Troubleshooting and Fixes > HP Network Check.
  • Follow the prompts to diagnose and repair.

4. Update Wi-Fi Drivers

  • Press Windows + X > Device Manager.
  • Expand Network Adapters.
  • Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter > Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for drivers.

5. Reset Network Settings

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
  • Scroll down and click Network Reset.
  • Restart your laptop after the reset completes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
