Hi @SS5786,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about your stolen laptops. Unfortunately, tracking a stolen laptop can be challenging, but here are some steps you can take to obtain the MAC address and increase the chances of recovering your devices:

1. Find the MAC Address of the Laptops

  • From Your Router: If the laptop was previously connected to your home Wi-Fi, log in to your router's admin panel to check the list of connected devices. Look for your laptop's name or its MAC address in the device history.
  • From Backup Services: If you had a backup service (e.g., OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox), the service might store the MAC address in your account details. Check your account settings or activity logs.
  • From the Original Purchase or HP Records:
    • If you registered your laptops with HP, contact HP support and provide the serial numbers. They may have the MAC addresses on file.
    • Look for the original purchase invoice or packaging, which may include the MAC address.

2. Report the Theft

  • Local Police: File a police report with the serial numbers of the laptops. This is crucial for legal and recovery purposes.

We are sorry this happened.

You know by now that what you can do is limited to what you can control.

Contact your local authorities to report the theft.

In the event of a loss of this type, the main issue is one of personal safety.

If you are safe, you are OK.

The short answer

HP does not track devices and cannot help with the recovery of lost or stolen property.

If you are located where it will do any good, report the loss to the local authorities - this might be the local police or other agency that can perhaps help with property retrieval.

"After the fact" is too late to purchase and install software that supports tracking, locking, or wiping the contents of your computer.

I am sorry to hear about the stolen laptop.  I'm sending a private message to assist you with the next action.

Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile Next, to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it or simply click on this link.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
