Welcome to the HP English Community --

The condition is very common.

Many machines (computers) come with the means to attach a SIM card.

Your SIM card includes your network account information needed to use that provider's network.

The part that is sometimes missing inside the computer is the hardware that actually makes the connection for the SIM.

The hardware needed inside the machine is the WWAN module.

--------------------------------------------------------

If a computer supports the WWAN module option,

(then)

The WWAN module is an optional feature, one that is generally added at the time the computer is purchased.

The WWAN card is specific to the machine in which it will be installed.

That means you cannot just wander out and purchase "just any WWAN".  Read the Maintenance and Service Guide for your computer for the exact WWAN module needed for your system.  Installation instructions are also included.

Without the WWAN module to make the connection, the SIM card is useless.
