Pavilion dv6-2155dx
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hey guys. I have a an HP Pavilion dv6-2155dx laptop with an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 wifi card in it. The card has been dying for a long time now, and its about to go out completely. All other pcs and phones connect fine to the internet here, except that this laptop will connect but drop to limited connectivity around every 15 minutes or so, and I have to turn off the wifi and then turn it back on to get it working for another 15 minutes. Its incredibly annoying and I need some help to make sure I buy the correct replacement so that it will work. Here is the info I have:

HP Pavilion dv6-2155x
Product No. WA781UA#ABA

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 wifi card
Running Windows 7 64-bit OS
All drivers are up to date, computer is clean of viruses, spyware, etc.

Basically, I need to know if there is a specific model of the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 card that came with this model laptop that I need to order. I have seen several different of these cards for sale online, but they all have different numbers and I just need maybe a link or something to show me the exact replacement I need.

Thanks so much for your time and help!

Yes you need this one

https://www.amazon.com/Intel-5100-512an_hmw-Wireless-572507-001/dp/B00O0GG1L2

The Service Manual did not list a Centrino Wireless-N 1000 card. You need not only the correct chip but it has to have an HP part number. Likely your card has that number on it either on a tag or on the label as the "SPS" number and it will be 6 numbers and a dash and then three other number usually 001.

The 5100 card is dual band 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz so is actually a better card and will work.

Hey I was actually looking over everything just to make sure I had the right info before ordering. I don't have a service manual for this laptop, but the device manager lists Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 under wireless adapters. I read here on the forums in a different thread that there wasn't a compatible dual band wireless card, so I'm still a little confused and of course this model laptop is no longer serviced via HP. I just wanted confirmation that the card you gave me a link to WILL work before ordering, since the device manager lists the centrino and the service manual does not. Thanks!
