Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Just reinstalled Windows 7.  The drivers for this system are no longer posted on HP's site.  I particularly need the drivers for wireless and networking to enable wifi.  Are these available?

Thans,

Hi:

For the first one, you need this driver...

This package contains the Broadcom Wireless LAN Drivers that are required to enable the integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN Adapter in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

File name: sp48591.exe

For the second one you need this driver...

This package provides the NVIDIA Chipset Installation Utility and Driver for the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems.

File name: sp45290.exe

HI:

I'm thinking there is a problem with the support pages.

I don't know what different hardware your notebook comes with (other than it says it has a UN2400 broadband module, but please post the hardware ID's for the devices you see listed as a Network Controller and Ethernet Controller.

Then I will find equivalent drivers from a HP business notebook, or elsewhere.

To find the hardware ID, click on the Network Controller device in the device manager.

Then click on the details tab at the top of the Network Controller window.

Now you will see a Property drop down list, and it will be set to Device Description.

Drop down on that list, and select the 2nd item (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

Do the same for the ethernet controller.

Here is the W7 32 bit driver for the WWAN card...

This driver installer package contains the drivers for the Qualcomm Gobi1000 HP un2400 Mobile Broadband Module in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

Not sure if this is the correct item since no "network controller" is listed but rather "network adapter" which is a "Qualcomm Atheros AR956x Wireless Network AdapterThe id is   PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_061211AD

The only controller listed is Realtek PCIe FE Family controller.  Its id is PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_FF1E1179

Let me know if these are not the right ones.

Thanks for your help

You're very welcome.

Here is the latest driver for that model atheros wlan card.

This package contains the drivers for the supported Atheros Wireless LAN Adapters in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54501-55000/sp54972.exe

You need the 2nd driver on the list from the link below, for the ethernet.

Download, unzip and run the setup application.

I installed those but I have yellow exclamation marks next to cooprocessor and network controller under other devices.  It says no driver installed.

Id's as follows;   PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4353&SUBSYS_1509103C  for network controller and

                                 PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0AA3&SUBSYS_3651103C for the coprocessor.

Now that I have the needed drivers I'm wondering if there is a bios update available.

Unfortunately, there is no way to tell until HP puts the drivers back on the support page.

Those are model-specific.

I'll check back to see when the driver page is put back up.  Thanks for all the rapid responses.
