I am interested in upgrading my existing wireless card on my HP Pavilion dv6t-6000 laptop to a 802.11ac. Other forums have stated HP has whitelisted WLAN modules on older laptops/BIOS. So wondering if there is a BIOS update available or what would be the best solution to upgrade existing card (Note: preference is not to use an external USB wifi dongle).
Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit Version: 19044.1415
Microprocessor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz
System board: 1658 10.31
System BIOS: F.1A
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi:
Unfortunately, your notebook has a BIOS whitelist which prevents you from upgrading the internal wifi card.
No BIOS updates were released to remove the whitelist or add support for dual band wifi cards.
HP started phasing out the whitelists with the dv6-7000 model series.
If you want dual band wifi, you will have to use a USB dual band wifi adapter.
This model is both dual band AC and has Bluetooth. Seems pretty compact too.
