Hi @Raylentless,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To troubleshoot issues with your wireless mouse on your HP laptop, you can follow these steps.

Check Mouse and USB Receiver:

  • Ensure that the mouse and the USB receiver are properly connected.
  • Try using the mouse on a different computer to confirm if the issue is with the mouse or the laptop.

Check Batteries:

  • Even if you've replaced the batteries, double-check that they are inserted correctly.
  • Confirm that the new batteries are functional. Test them in another device if possible.

Reset the Wireless Connection:

  • Some wireless mice come with a reset button on the bottom. Press it to reset the connection.
  • If there's a Connect button on the USB receiver, press it, and then press the Connect button on the mouse.

Check Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager on your laptop and check for any issues with the mouse or USB receiver. Update the drivers if needed.
    • Right-click on the Start button, select "Device Manager," and look for the mouse or USB receiver under the "Mice and other pointing devices" or "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section.
    • If there's an issue, you can right-click and select "Update driver" or "Uninstall device," then reconnect the mouse to let Windows reinstall the drivers.

Check for Driver Updates:

  • Visit the official HP support website: HP Customer Support
  • Enter your laptop model (17-cn2xxx) and look for driver updates, especially for the mouse or USB receiver.

Windows Update:

  • Ensure your operating system is up to date with the latest Windows updates.
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Bluetooth Settings (if applicable):

  • If your mouse uses Bluetooth, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your laptop.
  • Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices and make sure Bluetooth is turned on.

Try a Different USB Port:

  • If the USB receiver is plugged into a USB hub, try plugging it directly into a USB port on the laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
