Hi:

You need these drivers...

This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook models and operating systems.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52500/sp52330.exe

Hello Paul, I have a hp dv7 notebook pc and recently my smart hard disk failed. I installed a same hitachi new disk and the computer was able to now successfully log me in. However, it is missing the network adapter driver and all unknown device adapters. With that's being said, I cannot connect to the Internet via wirelessly or Ethernet cable. I factory resettled the entire computer to day one and also the bios setting for network and still no progress. Everywhere I see, it says to install the driver but how can I as I cannot connect to the Internet nor attach a flash drive and transfer. Please help! Thanks

Hi, @Jasonb1

Please provide the full model number or product number of your notebook.

The product number can be found on the same sticker as the serial number.

If your notebook has a DVD drive, you can burn the driver files to a DVD.

If your notebook is a dv7-6xxx or 7xxx model, it has USB3 ports, and USB2 ports.

A flash drive will only work in the USB2 ports until the applicable USB3 drivers are installed.

So, put the flash drive in one of the USB2 ports.

Thanks for the fast reply Paul. Product # is B2P31UA#ABA. In total, my laptop has 4 USB ports. 2 left, and 2 on the right. I'm pretty sure all 4 are not working. So I can just get a clean cd and download the drivers on their and then insert the cd onto my laptop and then drag it? Please explain all the possible solutions in my situation. Thanks

You're very welcome.

You have a dv7-7012nr Entertainment Notebook PC.

You need these ethernet, wireless and bluetooth drivers for your model...

This package provides the Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver that enables the Realtek Network Interface Card (NIC) Chip in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

File name: sp56167.exe

This package contains drivers for the supported Broadcom Wireless LAN Adapters in the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems.

File name: sp57965.exe

This package contains the Broadcom Bluetooth driver and software for supported models that are running a supported operating system. Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Driver is required to enable Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 devices and is compatible with Broadcom Bluetooth 3.0 and earlier versions.

File name: sp61617.exe

You need this USB3 driver...

This package provides the Intel USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The driver enables USB 3.0 devices.

File name: sp56164.exe

The user guide for your notebook indicates that there is one USB 2 port on the right side of the pc.

Look at the illustration below, Chapter 2 page 5, for the location of the USB2 port.

A flash drive should work fine in that port without any additional drivers for now, or yes, you can use a blank CD-R or RW disk and copy the above files to it and run them from the CD.

Ok and also before when I would want to increase/decrease the volume, a beats logo would appear while decreasing. Now, it's just a simple hp bar that's shows the volume increasing or decreasing. Does that mean the beats speakers are also not functioning. Thanks
HP Recommended

That is correct.

You need to install the IDT HD audio driver which also contains the Beats software.

This package contains the driver that enables the IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.
