Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I just did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 from a MS ISO onto this laptop.  Before doing the OS install, the laptop had numerous problems, but the Wi-Fi worked fine.  After the OS install, I burned all of the HP drivers/software offered for this laptop on the HP website onto disk and installed them.  Everything outside of networking seems to work.  The 100BaseT adapter is functional, but not the Wi-Fi.

The drivers seem to install OK as far as the HP installation software shows.  But afterward, Device Manager, under Network Adapters, lists only the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.  Under Other Devices there is Network Controller. There is no mention of Atheros Bluetooth, Broadcom Wireless, or Ralink Wi-Fi.

I've tried removing the device Network Controller and then installing the drivers; searching for updates via Device Manager (none found on the Internet); installing with and without the HP Download and Install Assistant; installing from the HDD, optical media, and across the LAN.

I've tried removing the Network Controller and reinstalling with the bare Win7 installation before any changes were made other than HP drivers/software, and also at numerous stages along the way as some 90 Windows Updates were installed.  I've installed IE 11 and Google Chrome, but no other software has been installed outside of Windows Updates and HP drivers/software.  Dozens of reboots and complete power-downs have been made.

Hi:

No doubt you are frustrated with finding a driver for the wireless card your notebook has.

Here is the link to the parts list for your notebook...

The reason that the wireless drivers won't install is because HP does not have the driver for the wireless card your notebook has on the support page.

Here is the link to the latest W7 wireless card driver for the model wlan card your notebook has...

This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8188CE wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.
