Product Name: HP ENVY 16 inch Laptop PC 16-h1000 (754G1AV)
All options to turn wifi and bluetooth on/off stopped working/disappeared before laptop shut down and I read the blinking light error message to be a motherboard issue. After a few months I tried turning the laptop on and its working normally except it's a tad bit slower at receiving shortcut prompts and there is still no wireless connectivity available. Here's the information I found while clicking around
Advanced Network Settings>Hardware and connection properties
Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network) status: Not present
Intel (R) Wi-fi 6E AX211 160MHz status: Not present
Microsoft Wi-fi Direct virtual adapter status: Not present
Microsoft Wi-fi Direct virtual adapter #2 status: Not present
Device Manager>Network Controller
The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28)

Hi @Hunae,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry to hear about the wireless connectivity issues you're experiencing with your HP ENVY 16 laptop. Let's work together to get this resolved. Here are a few questions to better understand the situation:
- Have you made any hardware changes, like replacing components, since you last used the laptop?
- Have you recently performed a Windows update, system reset, or BIOS update that might have affected the network drivers?
- Do you see any physical signs of damage to the laptop (e.g., port issues, blinking error lights, etc.)?
Let's try these steps.
Check Device Manager for Missing Drivers:
- Open Device Manager and look under "Network Adapters" for any devices with a yellow triangle or missing drivers.
- Right-click the "Network Controller" with the Code 28 error and select "Update Driver". Choose "Search automatically for drivers".
- If this doesn’t work, visit the HP Support Website to download and install the latest Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 drivers specific to your laptop model.
Run Network Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Run the Network Adapter Troubleshooter to identify and fix issues.
Verify Wireless Module Status in BIOS:
- Restart the laptop and press F10 (or the appropriate key for BIOS access).
- Check if the wireless module is listed and enabled in the BIOS. If not, enable it, save changes, and reboot.
- If it is not detected in the BIOS, this could indicate a hardware issue with the wireless card.
Reinstall the Chipset Drivers:
- Download and reinstall the chipset drivers for your laptop from the HP Support website. This may restore communication between the motherboard and the wireless card.
Consider a Hardware Check:
- Run the HP Hardware Diagnostics tool by pressing F2 during startup and selecting the diagnostic tests for network hardware.
If the test indicates hardware failure, the wireless card may need to be reseated or replaced. Contact HP Support for further assistance if this is the case.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
