HP EliteBook Folio 9480m Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

While trying to activate my SIM card on my pc, I discovered that I didn't have network adapter driver for the SIM card installed which I thought was unusual because my pc had a slot for SIM cards.

After that, I downloaded the hs3110/hs3114 Mobile Broadband Driver from the site, which had a setup file sp78749.exe which after I setup created a folder. Now at this point, I don't know if the driver had been installed after the setup, or I still had to setup another file in the folder 'HPInstaller'. Anyways, even after setting up the HPInstaller app, I found out that the driver isn't still showing.Screenshot 2023-03-12 162738.pngScreenshot 2023-03-12 162358.pngScreenshot 2023-03-12 162531.png

You're very welcome.

You will have to open up the notebook and visually check to see that the antenna wires are there.

Refer to chapter 5 of the service manual I posted yesterday, pages 41 & 42 for where to install the WWAN card.

If you see antenna wires in the compartment, then you can purchase and install one of the supported WWAN cards.

Hi:

Every HP EliteBook Folio 9480m Notebook PC has a SIM card slot.

What 90% of them don't have is the required WWAN adapter that you need to connect to the cellular service.

The SIM card just authorizes you to use the cellular service.

The fact that you are asking the question indicates that your notebook does not have the required WWAN card installed and that is indicated in your screenshot.  There is no WWAN adapter hardware installed, or it would be listed along with the Intel 7260 Wi-Fi adapter.

They were an expensive option.

So, what now ?

So, what now?

You first check to make sure that your notebook has the required WWAN antenna wires present and if they are, you would have to purchase the supported WWAN adapter that is listed in chapter 3, page of your notebook's service manual.

HP EliteBook Folio 9480m Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide

WWAN module:
HP lt4112 LTE/HSPA+ Mobile Broadband Module      740011-001
HP lt4211 LTE/EV-DO/HSPA+ Gobi 4G Module            793116-001
HP hs3110 HSPA+ Mobile Broadband Module             822828-001

You can only buy one of the WWAN adapters listed in chapter 3 of the service manual and it must have the HP part number on it, or it will not work.

Alright thanks, but how do I know if the WWAN antenna wires are present?

Sorry for the late reply and thanks by the way... Though this look like it's going to be a long process, I would like to do it when I have enough time. Thanks once again.
