Hello,

I wanted to 'clean" my pc because it was full of viruses and programs I didn't need. So I removed everything by setting it back to factory mode. When I wanted to instal a network, my pc didn't know what it was it was blank. I skipped it and I could use my pc but without wifi ( you can't even find the wifi icon in installing, it's like it doesn't know what wifi is). I hope someone can help, I know it was stupid to do that, but I did it. Thanks in advance

Lynse

Hi
Make, Model and OS please.
SKU: if possible by this method
WinKey + R and type
msinfo32
Read Line 9
System SKU: N6K07EA#ABU

Please do not post Serial Numbers.

Copy, Paste and Save in Notepad, as LBB.bat (not a .TXT) and double click to run.
Preferably run as an Administrator.
OR
Copy and use the individual command lines as needed.

Post anything non-personal, but relevant please.

@Echo OFF
getmac
netsh lan show interfaces
netsh wlan show interfaces
netsh wlan show drivers
PAUSE
msinfo32
PAUSE
systeminfo
PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter"
PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter -Name * | Format-Table -View Driver"
PowerShell -Command "GIP -Detailed"
PowerShell -Command "Test-NetConnection"
PAUSE

If you can begin posting some details we may get a result quite quickly.

Hey,

Thanks you for helping. I don't know much of computers so I will puts some photos with it so you can look. I did what you ask and than this black screen came and nothing happened except that they were words , see photo.

I don't know if its normal that the system SKU number is different. Apparently It doesn't work to add photos.

PC model : hp pavilion x360 convertible

Model: 13-s161nb

[edit]

P/N T1N28EA#UUG

Notice I am from Belgium so my pc is in Dutch that makes it way harder.

So I copied the SKU number (my pc that infound) in notepad and changed it to LBB.bat but nothing happened so I added that long code with powershell and stuff and that  a black screen appears and says no network adapters found , the following command was not found: Lan show interfaces.

The wireless Autoconfig service (wlansvc) is not running , twice on screen, and then press any key to continue. I did that and new information appears but suddenly it disappeared.

Hi

So you have a HP Pavilion x360 - 13-s161nb (ENERGY STAR)

https://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/hp-pavilion-13-s100-x360-convertible-pc/8499316/model/9483803/m...

If you change the 'gb-en' to your local lingua franca then it may help.  EG:

https://support.hp.com/be-nl/product/hp-pavilion-13-s100-x360-convertible-pc/8499316/model/9483803

So try

WinKey + R

type

cmd.exe pause

You get a screen, type the LBB.bat commands as and when

C:\>getmac

Physical Address Transport Name
=================== ==========================================================
48-48-48-48-48-27 \Device\Tcpip_{}
BB-BB-BB-BB-BB-28 Media disconnected
48-48-48-48-48-28 Media disconnected

Copy and paste like the above, or

C:\>getmac >> C:\Users\LBB\getmac.txt   generates a text file in my (or Lynse) user area.

and it tells me there are 3 devices, Wi-Fi; Ethernet and Bluetooth.

No need for photos then, simple copy and paste via the >> REDIRECT command.

Hey

I'm so sorry but I don't understand what I have to do. So I did winkey r and typed the code then I got the black screen that says

C:\Users\Lynse>

But when i want to add the LBB it doesn't work. Can you maybe write it step by step because it's really hard for me to know what to do. When I typed a  code wlan  show interfaces etc. They said it wasn't running...

Thanks again:(

HP Recommended

Hi

Sorry, at no point do you need to type LBB.

I have attached a file called LynseBAT.doc, rename it Lynse.bat please.

Hey,

So I did it and when I types netsh lan show interfaces , it says that that the wired autoconfig service (dot3svc) is not running.

Same for netsh wlan show drivers but then between brackets (wlansvc). At the end when I typed everything its says warning name resolution of internetbeacon.com.nsedge.net failed.

Thnx

So

Unless the Wi-Fi adapter has been physically changed, damaged or worked loose, we can try and bluff our way thru.

These are the drivers to download...........

Worst case scenario you try the wrong one first.

SSID WiFi Born On.pngNetwork PolyGlot.png

Eth IPv4.pngHidden Devices.png

The pictures may not be relevant, but the first one shows I have a Wi-FI.

2 & 3 are my final settings.

Number 4 is showing things can be hidden in Device Manager meaning you cant install them,

until you find them.

Please try this new approach and ask again as needed.

Hey,

I don't know why but I can't send pictures but when I went to view and then show hidden divices and then looked I couldn't see zyxel g-202. Also different from the picture that I dont have as much adapters as there only 5 , 3 aren't hidden but there is a warning sign next to it and 3 who were hidden. You send me also a couple of things that I should download on the pc but as u know I dont have wifi so I can't install it. Can I do it if i first install on a USB stick and then plug it in in the pc?

Hi

Options are always

Wi-Fi

Ethernet

USB/DVD

BlueTooth from a SmartPhone.

I suspect USB is your only choice.
