Hey folks,

I bought myself a new HP ZBook Firefly G11 with an AMD Ryzen 7 and Windows 11 Pro (24H2)

I created a new installation media with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool.

During the initial setup, I bypassed the wifi requirement using OOBE\BYPASSNRO.

The problem is, I now have no option to connect the notebook the the internet, none.

If i look into the device manager, nearly everything has a warning sign next to it (Sorry my system is using german as default language):

I do not even have a WIFI button the quick settings:

And the troubleshoot tells me I'm connected to some virtual adapter that can't be tested, in addition when I use the `netsh wlan show drivers` command in CMD, it tells me there is no wifi interface on the system.

I also downloaded the drivers for my notebook manually from the HP support page, and it showed an info that all drivers have been installed successfully, performed a restart afterwards and it changed nothing, still no option to connect to the internet.

So I'm curious what I should do now?

Thanks in advance

You're very welcome.

Download the Wi-Fi driver from another PC, copy it to a USB flash drive, plug the flash drive into your notebook's USB port, copy it to the Windows desktop and run it from there.

This is the Wi-Fi driver you need:

MediaTek Wireless LAN Driver

sp153644.exe

Here's the Bluetooth driver:

MediaTek Wireless LAN Driver

sp153645.exe

After you get those drivers installed, you can install the rest of the drivers you need from your notebook's support page:

HP ZFly14G11A R7-8840HS1432GB/512LTE5GPC (A07SCAA) Software- und Treiber-Downloads | HP® Support

I believe that the AMD Chipset driver on the support page will install quite a few of those devices.

Anyway, after you install some of the obvious drivers you need (Audio, Graphics, touchpad, etc.), if there is anything remaining on your screenshot that the drivers from the support page didn't install, feel free to post the hardware ID's for those and I will try and find the drivers for those too.

Hi:

What is the display size of your notebook?  14", 15"?

You have to install the driver for the Wi-Fi adapter (Netzwerkcontroller).

The problem is I don't know what model Wi-Fi adapter HP installed in your notebook.

If you post the hardware ID for the Netzwerkcontroller device, I will post the link to the Wi-Fi driver you need for it.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device:

How to Find Drivers for Unknown Devices in the Device Manager

Thank you very much for your reply and the provided info!

I do have the 14 version.

Regarding the network controller hardware ids, device manager shows the following:

PCI\VEN_14C3&DEV_0616&SUBSYS_223C14C3&REV_01

PCI\VEN_14C3&DEV_0616&SUBSYS_223C14C3

PCI\VEN_14C3&DEV_0616&CC_028000

PCI\VEN_14C3&DEV_0616&CC_0280

This is some valuable info for me, learning how to get to those drivers, could you please explain how you are able to find out which one on the HP support page is the correct one? Really curious about that!

Can I do this with the other devices that have an exclamation mark next to them too or is it better to let the OS search for the drivers once the internet connection is established? (To be honest, I don' t really know what those many "Unbekanntes Gerät (Unknown devices)" are.

Thank you very much!
