Hi all, I have recently purchased a HP Pavillion 15 eh laptop and the screen is very washed out and faded. The blacks are greys and colour is really flat.
I've had a play around with the graphics settings but honestly I have no idea what I'm doing.
Everything appears up to date, the processor is a: AMD Ryzen 7 7730U with Radeon Graphics.
I've seen a few things on a Google search, but as I'm not very techy I'm a bit out of my depth.
Would be grateful for any support.

Hi @giamemi,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Pavilion 15 eh laptop's screen may need some adjustments. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the washed-out and faded display issue.
Adjust Display Settings
Brightness and Contrast:
- Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
- Adjust the brightness slider and see if increasing or decreasing it helps.
- For more advanced options, click on "Advanced display settings" and adjust the contrast and color settings if available.
Color Calibration:
- Search for "Color Calibration" in the Start menu and open the "Calibrate display color" tool.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the display.
Update Graphics Drivers
Via Windows Update:
- Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update."
- Check for updates and install any that are available.
Via Device Manager:
- Right-click the Start button and select "Device Manager."
- Expand "Display adapters," right-click on your AMD Radeon Graphics, and select "Update driver."
- Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."
Check AMD Radeon Settings
- AMD Software:
- Open the AMD Radeon Settings by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting "AMD Radeon Software."
- Navigate to the "Display" tab and look for options to adjust color settings, including brightness, contrast, and saturation.
Adjust Night Light Settings
- Night Light:
- Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Display."
- Turn off the "Night light" feature if it's on, as it can affect the color and brightness of the screen.
Check for Physical Issues
Cable Connections:
- Ensure that the display cables (if accessible) are securely connected. This is more relevant if you're using an external monitor, but worth checking.
Screen Condition:
- Inspect the screen for any visible damage or issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
