My old printer (HP3510) will not talk to my new Netgear Router over the wireless unless I turn off all security. They both broadcast at 2.4GHz and the router uses AES encryption. The printer report says it uses AES or TKIP. I do not know which and it does not say. The only way I can get the two to talk to each other is if I turn off encryption on both. Then WPS works, but I do not want to leave it like that since all of our devices also use AES. Any ideas other than go get a new printer...

Welcome to HP Support Forum. Please use the following Guide:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1736500-1626554-16
Please also note: Your printer may only support 2.4GHz therefore you need to check and allow your router to broadcast both (dual) bands which are 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz.
Regards.

Thanks. The router broadcasts at 2.4GHz just like the printer. It is a security problem that looks unfixable. The printer and the router both use AES but the problem might lie in how the encryption was implemented years ago vs today...
I am not expecting a solution here...new printer has been ordered...
