So I know that this is NOT a driver issue, a router issue, or a WI-Fi access point issue. I have a Samsung phone that can connect to my WI-Fi 6E just fine. I know for a fact that HP is disabling the capability of their laptops to connect to 6 GHz Wi-FI. I have a friend who has last year's Spectre x360 and who COULD connect to 6 GHz, but after a UEFI update, was all of a sudden NOT able to connect to 6 GHz. I did all the troubleshooting I could, including driver updates, but the only thing that worked was DOWNGRADING the UEFI to an older version. Only after doing that was their old Spectre connecting to 6 Ghz again. Now I think I know why this is. It's probably because getting a device Wi-Fi 6E certified through ISED (Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada) takes time. So when my friend's older Spectre was first released, the BIOS supported 6 GHz, but HP probably failed to get ISED certified and was told by them to disable 6E capability or else face fines for every laptop sold. Unfortunately my new Spectre doesn't have an older UEFI to downgrade to. I know that the laptop can see the 6Ghz network, but it won't show it in my SSID list when I search for networks to connect to. Yes, I have the option on my WI-Fi access point to out a separate SSID just for 6GHz, and the Spectre does not show that SSID when I am sitting right beside the router.
Here is the output from the netsh command:
PS C:\Users\ilove> netsh wlan sh int
There is 1 interface on the system:
Name : Wi-Fi
Description : Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHz
GUID : cc117e2c-6e03-***REMOVED***
Physical address : 58:1c:f8***REMOVED***
Interface type : Primary
State : connected
SSID : ( . )( . )'s & (__|__)(__|__)'s
BSSID : ***REMOVED***
Colocated APs: : 2
BSSID:***REMOVED***, Band: 6 GHz , Channel: 1
BSSID: ***REMOVED***, Band: 6 GHz , Channel: 1
Network type : Infrastructure
Radio type : 802.11ax
Authentication : WPA3-Personal
Cipher : CCMP
Connection mode : Auto Connect
Band : 5 GHz

Receive rate (Mbps) : 1201
Transmit rate (Mbps) : 1201
Signal : 93%
Profile : ( . )( . )'s & (__|__)(__|__)'s
Hosted network status : Not available
As you can see, I am sitting RIGHT beside my 6Ghz capable router, but only connected to 5 GHz. But the laptop itself sees 2 6 GHz signals.
I want to contact the team responsible for getting HP laptops certified and asking them what is the ETA. My home is Wi-Fi 6E ready. I already have 2 phones using 6E. As it stands, I will not buy another laptop from HP until this is fixed, and I am not going to recommend HP to any friends or family either. My other friend has a Samsung Laptop and another with the new MacBook Pro that have brought their laptops to my house and can connect to my 6E network just fine.
