That is a 64 million dollars question. Your machine was built around July 2016 therefore the chance to upgrade wireneless card is high, To be safe, please use the following options

  • Realtek RTL8723BE-VB 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter
  • Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter
  • Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo Adapter

Your machine only has 1 antenna therefore you need one more antenna to accomodate new card which requires 2 antennas.

Regards.

Not sure how well it will work or maybe it wont work at all but the new internal WIFI card should work with this computer I would think as it does a different Pavilion that was made in 2016. The ne internal card is in the AC type and it is a doul core band 1200 mbs card but I will not really no for sure if it will work or not untill I put it in. PS will get back on that if it works or not.

Hi,

Can you please let me know if you succeeded in replacing the WiFi adapter?

I'm in a similar situation and wanted to upgrade the Wifi in my laptop from Broadcom BCM43142 to Intel 3165 (both recommended in the maintenance guide), but unfortunately, the Intel 3165 is not being recognized by BIOS.

Thanks!
