HP PAVILION NOTEBOOK
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop is unable to identify Wifi Networks even though they are available and visible in other phones and laptops. It can only get connected to mobile hotspots from the phone hotspots. It shows "No Wifi Networks found". This issue started when my friend tried to set up a wifi dlink router by connecting the Ethernet cable to my laptop from the router. She wasn't able to set it up and thus stopped midway and plugged out the ethernet cable from my laptop and turned off the router. since then my laptop couldn't find/identify other wifi networks even though they're clearly available. I have tried troubleshooting and it said "Plug an ethernet cable into this computer." Inside the Control Panel. under Network and Internet it is written as "Network cable unplugged " under the Ethernet. I have tried updating my network adapter drivers, which didn't solve the problem. I plugged in the cable again and reset the router which also didn't help. I have tried changing the properties of the ethernet and almost all the methods described in the internet which never helped.

Hi! @parkwon,

Are the wireless drivers listed in the device manager?

Are you able to connect other devices to the same wireless network?

Please share the product number of the PC to assist you better.

Try updating the BIOS, chipset and wireless drivers on the PC to latest version and check if it helps.

Note: Before uninstallation of the wireless drivers make sure your PC is connected via ethernet cable.

You can try updating the drivers on the PC using HP support assistant.

Refer this article to know more information about using HP support assistant.

Forget the wireless connection

If you’re having “Windows 10 can’t connect to this network” error, you might want to “forget” your wireless connection in order to fix this problem. To forget wireless network on Windows 10, do the following:

Open Settings App and go to Network & Internet.
Go to Wi-Fi section and click Manage Wi-Fi settings.
Scroll down to the Manage known networks, select your Wireless network and click Forget.
After you’ve done that, connect to the same wireless network again.
