I recently wanted to upgrade the standard single band 2.4GHz wifi card with a Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 (6235ANHMW) Wlan with Bluetooth 4.0 (which i saw was a compatible card in the manual). Swapped out the old with the new, and downloaded and installed the drivers from this page:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-m4-1100-notebook-pc-series/5330555/model/53...

Note: One dependency i see is that there wasn't an option to select windows 10 only windows 8 and 8.1. (with the driver i needed only under windows 8).

I downloaded the wi-fi version ("Intel Wireless Drivers for Microsoft Windows 8";  v. 15.5.6.48; file name: sp59650.exe; (165.4 MB)

I also downloaded the bluetooth driver ("Intel Bluetooth Driver"; v. 2.6; file name: sp59207.exe (76.3MB)

First started with the wifi driver. Everything seems to go smoothly, driver says its installed and working "working properly" in device manager ; but is disconnected. When i go to connect it / turn on wifi, the toggle button says its on but doesnt show any wifi networks. I run the troublehooting and it says that the wi fi is off and to turn it on with the button on the laptop... Its already turned on. Tried rebooting, etc and nothing has worked yet.

I figured i would try the bluetooth driver. It also installs and says its "working properly", I was able to turn bluetooth on and discover it with my phone. I didnt try to do any data transfer but will do shortly. I just wanted to validate that the hardware is working, which it is (and should of been as its a new card).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

@jimi_hendrix,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the wireless connection is not working after upgrading the wireless card.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

There are no drivers available on the HP website for the wireless card you have purchased. You need to download and install the correct wireless card drivers from the Intel website for the wireless card to work correctly.

You can use the Intel driver and support assistant from the below link and it will automatically detect and install the driver for the wireless card.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!
