HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-fd0000 (952D1AV)

Hello, I've recently bought HP 15-fd0255nw (9R840EA) laptop with i5-1334U CPU and installed the newest Windows 10 version from Microsoft's website onto it. There was no system installed when I bought the laptop. After a successful installation I found that the network card doesn't quite seem to work, as all I can see is airplane mode, so I searched for drivers on the HP website only to realize there are no drivers for Windows 10 for this model available at all.

Well I am surprised to see this, given that from what I've researched HP, Intel and Microsoft have been working on the issue of drivers and compatibility for Windows 10 on newer laptops in general for quite some time. Importantly, the box in which the laptop came contained a brochure with information that Windows 7 and 8 are no longer compatible with this machine without any mention of Windows 10 whatsoever. Win 10 will continue to be supported by Microsoft for almost two years and i5-1334u has been supported for almost a year now so it doesn't make any sense. I see no justification for no availability of Windows 10 drivers for this laptop and without a working network card HP can hardly claim, as it does right now, that the machine supports Win 10.

I don't know if anything else beside the network card doesn't work, so far everything else seems fine. Maybe I'm missing something and it's not the drivers. What do?

*Hmm now I see the name of the model for which I entered the serial number is different in the drop down product menu -
HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-fd0000 (952D1AV) but it has no drivers for Win 10 either.

Hi:

HP only supports that model notebook for W11 so finding W10 drivers for the notebook to completely function properly will be quite a challenge.

Here's the link to the Wi-Fi driver you need for W10:

Realtek RTL8xxx Wireless LAN Drivers

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp150501-151000/sp150994.exe

I recommend that after you get connected to the internet, take the free upgrade to W11 so you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

No W10 drivers, so whoever told you or wherever you saw that the notebook supports W10, is incorrect.

HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-fd0000 Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support

Only HP business class notebooks with the Intel 12th & 13th generation core processors have driver support for both W10 & W11.
