Hi @Bubbo58,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY x360 - m6-w103dx is missing its Wi-Fi adapter after a Windows update, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue.
Check Device Manager:
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Look for Network adapters and see if your Wi-Fi adapter is listed. If not, check under Other devices or Unknown devices for any issues.
- If you find your Wi-Fi adapter with a yellow triangle, it might be a driver issue. Right-click it and select Update driver.
Reinstall Network Adapter Drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter (if listed) and select Uninstall device. Make sure to check the box to delete the driver software for this device.
- Restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the driver. If not, you may need to download the driver from the HP website or the adapter manufacturer’s website.
Check Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Check for updates and install any that are available. Sometimes, additional updates are released to fix issues caused by previous updates.
Network Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Select Internet Connections and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.
BIOS and Firmware Update:
- Sometimes a BIOS update can resolve hardware compatibility issues. Check the HP support website for any BIOS or firmware updates for your model.
System Restore:
- If the issue persists, you might consider performing a System Restore to a point before the update. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery and select Open System Restore.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
