This laptop, purchased three weeks ago. I am unable to connect wirelessly.
I installed Linux 18.2, Cinnamon (ISO). Everything works flawlessly via the ethernet connection.
I see not icon (indicating wireless availableity). Wireless net is setup and functional with phone/Desktop/HP printer.
What would be the terminal commands to use, that I might provide the forum with the necessary information?

Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
According to the HP product page for that model laptop, it came with Windows 10 preinstalled, not Linux.
HP only warranties their PCs for usage with the OS that comes preinstalled. IF you replace that or add a different OS, then you assume full responsibility for maintaining that other OS -- as HP then provides no assistance on that.
Win10 PCs nearly all use UEFI and that poses special problems for installing Linux distros: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2147295
Your best bet for Linux support, since HP does not provide Linux drivers, is to contact the support forum for the Linux distro you are trying to install -- in this case, the Linux Mint Forums: http://forums.linuxmint.com/index.php?sid=e1d864fe510e562a3fca15f38c93b95a
Folks there have experience using HP machines with Linux and know a lot about driver sources and dual-booting.
Good Luck

Little confused here, but understand that since I have overlayed/erased Windoze 10, with Ubuntu Mint 18.2, that I am going to have problems with the hardware?
I want a Linux machine, which I have currently via ethernet, and trying to get the wireless operational.
Headed over to the Linux Mint forums. Thank you for your help, keeping me from pegging the HP forums.

By installing Linux Mint in the place of Windows, since most manufacturers don't even bother to write Linux drivers, you created a situation where you have to hunt around on your own for drivers.
But ... I have run Mint myself for several years and can tell you that the Mint Forums are the best place to go to get Linux drivers help for Mint installations.
Good Luck

Hi
There are a few, and a very long script.
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/UbuntuForums/wireless-info/master/wireless-info
The script produces a long text file with just about every conceivable detail on your wifi, so if you run it and paste in the result, we may be able to help.
