HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk10000 Laptop PC (8VD47AV)

Hi, my laptop no longer connects to my phone's 5Ghz. I use my phone's hotspot and can choose to use either 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz. When i try to connect to the network it says: Connecting, until it tells me "unable connect to thit network". I had already contacted microsoft support but it was not resolved. I tried all the ways but nothing.

@Elinx, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

The issue you're encountering where your HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk10000 Laptop PC is unable to connect to your phone's 5GHz hotspot could be due to several reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Update Network Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager on your laptop.
  • Under "Network adapters," find your Wi-Fi adapter.
  • Right-click on it and select "Update driver."
  • Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."

Network Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks.
  • Forget the 5GHz network if it's listed.
  • Try reconnecting to the network from scratch.

Reboot Devices:

  • Restart both your laptop and your mobile device.
  • Sometimes, simply restarting can resolve connectivity issues.

Wi-Fi Adapter Settings:

  • Go into Device Manager.
  • Double click on your Wi-Fi adapter to open its properties.
  • Under the "Advanced" tab, check if there's a setting for the band (2.4GHz vs. 5GHz) and ensure it's set to Auto or 5GHz.

Phone Hotspot Settings:

  • Ensure your phone’s hotspot is set up correctly to broadcast over 5GHz.
  • Sometimes, switching temporarily to 2.4GHz and then back again can reset the connection parameters.

Windows Network Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Select "Network Adapter" > Run the troubleshooter.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Hope you are doing fine!
